Welcome to the summer edition of our 'Meet the Team' series!

This month, we're thrilled to introduce Tuomas Mustonen who recently joined Fiberdom's Business Development team.

For over 25 years, Tuomas has worked at the heart of materials innovation, commercialization, and business growth — from early packaging R&D at what is now Metsäboard, through leadership roles at VTT, to co-founding and building Paptic over more than a decade.

He understands how new materials scale from the lab into everyday use. More importantly, he knows which ones have what it takes — and in Fiberdom's Duranova® he saw exactly that – big potential for scaling up, and a material that could make a real breakthrough in the market.

What also stood out was the team — a unique combination of deep expertise, diverse backgrounds, and people moving fast forward with a shared belief that something special is being built. A team that enjoys working together, gets things done, and isn't afraid to roll up its sleeves.

For Tuomas, the best innovations happen when technology meets practical market demand — and when the right people come together at the right time. He's a firm believer that good things happen by positive enforcement and right amount of coincidental occurrences, and that the best career moments arrive when the stars are in the right place.

"When it seems so easy to book meetings and find connections

with people and companies — that reinforces the feeling that

you're onto something really good."

In other words, when people immediately understand the value, get excited by the possibilities, and want to engage in the conversation of building a joint future.

Right now, he believes Fiberdom has all the right ingredients. And we do too!

And we're already seeing the impact. Tuomas brings deep commercial experience, industry relationships, and a practical understanding of what it takes to turn promising innovation into business opportunities.

And when he's not thinking about fiber, you'll find him playing hockey with his son or working on his boat — or as he calls it, his floating summer cottage. "It's a project that's never quite finished", which suits him just fine because whether it's a boat, a business, or a breakthrough material, Tuomas enjoys figuring out how things work — and making them work better.

Welcome to the team, Tuomas! 🌟
